Chairman Pakistan People’s Party Bilawal Bhutto Zardari today said that with the help of Party’s ideological workers and the democratic people the PPP will regain the ground it lost during the last general elections and the recent local bodies’ polls.
I urge you to rise above the petty personal differences and work together to shore up the Party to meet the challenges that lie ahead he said while addressing various organizations of the KPK chapter of the party in Zardari house in Islamabad today. Those who called on him today included the party chapters of Malakand, Dera Ismail Khan, Hazara divisions and the Peoples Doctors Forum.
Raja Pervez Ashraf, Qamar Zaman Kaira, Faisal Karim Kundi, Rahimdad Khan, Humayoun Khan, Noor Alam Khan, Najam Din Khan, Akhunzada Chattan and other central senior party leaders were also present on the occasion besides the provincial leaders of the party.
He said he was optimistic about the PPP bouncing back with vigor and intensity because of the democratic and progressive ethos of the people of Pakistan which were also the guiding principles of the Party.
Spokesperson Senator Farhatullah Babar said that Saturday was the second day of Bilawal’s meetings with party organizations. On Friday he met separately the lawyers, youth, labor, minority and the women wings of the provincial party.Bilawal said that he will soon undertake visits to the southern and northern divisions of the province to meet the rank and file of valiant workers and the people.
Bilawal paid tributes to the people of KPK for their heroic fight and sacrifices in the fight against extremism and militancy and condemned the “Nawaz’s government’s criminal neglect of its responsibilities under the unanimously adopted the National Action Plan”.
He said that the NAP called for reforming FATA but no reforms have been introduced in the tribal areas.
Banned organizations continue to function under other names. The law enacted during the PPP government banning the resurrection of proscribed organizations under different names was totally ignored with the result that extremist militant organizations continued to flourish, he said.
He said that under the law the NACTA Board of Governors is headed by the Prime Minister must meet once in three months but had not met for the past one year even once.
He deplored the Defence Minister’s recent statement that the government will talk to Afghan Taliban for security of TAPI gas pipeline and asked if this still the state policy to out-source strategic security interests and policies to non-state militants?
It seems we have still not abandoned that policy and are still running with the hare and hunting with the hound and called upon the government to abandon the policy of running with the hare and hunting with the hound in dealing with militants and militant organizations, he said.
I salute the people of KPK for continuing to wage heroic war against militancy despite federal government’s pathetic response to the existential threat facing the country, he said.
