According to details, Christians in Pakistan have decided to keep the Christmas celebrations low key due to the heart wrenching incident at the Army Public School.
In this regard the chairman of Muslim-Masihi Ittehad- Mr. Sameul Yaqub said “It isn’t possible to celebrate Christmas with full zeal and enthusiasm when the country was still mourning”. “On December 25, we will go to churches to say prayers for these martyrs and for peace and prosperity in the country,” he added.
He declared Pakistani Christians stand with their Muslim brothers and sisters. “We consider all these children as our family members and will dedicate this Christmas to them.”
Christians in Peshawar have cancelled all Christmas celebrations and decided to observe the day with simplicity in all churches of the city. Bishop Humphrey Peters of the Church of Pakistan while expressing grief said the loss of innocent and dear children has left Peshawar bereaved. While requesting Peshawar’s Christians to keep the celebration to low-key he said, “We endured the same grief when All Saints Church was brutally attacked.” The Churches Association of Hazara Division has also decided the same way.
