Balochistan government led by Chief Minister (CM) Dr. Malik Baloch has launched education emergency in the province. The actions of the government on the ground and according to different students organizations, amount to an anti-education policy.
300 students of Balochistan were studying in divisional college Multan under Chamalang educational scholarship scheme of the government. Recently all the students have been expelled from the institutes due to non-payment of their scholarship fee by Balochistan government.
Balochistan government has announced 20 seats of Self Finance in Bolan Medical College (BMC). These seats have been distributed on divisional basis and more seats have been allotted to divisions with smaller populations.
“It’s an attempt by Balochistan government to shut the doors of education on poor students,” Said Balochistan Students Organizations (BSO) Pajjar faction. It must be noted that BSO-Pajjar is affiliated with ruling National Party (NP).
Another faction of BSO has termed the self Finance scheme in BMC as a way to earn money. According to the statement of BSO, which is affiliated with Balochistan National Party; “Education emergency of Balochistan government has turned into emergency against education.”
Caretaker Prime Minister, Hazar Khan Khosa had approved a Welfare Board Medical College for Naseerabad. Now, that project has been shifted to Pishin due to pressure of the allies of Dr. Malik.
Apart from those vacancies of 674 college lecturers and 250 technical instructors are still in the cold storage. These vacancies were advertised last year but cancelled by petty politics of the coalition partners of Dr. Malik Baloch.
