Malala, Sharmeen to receive first-ever Asia Game Changer award

Malala Yousufzai and Sharmeen Obaid Chinoy have been chosen from Pakistan by the Asia society for the first Asia Game changer awards to be handed out later this year at the United Nations.
According to details, Malala, the teenage child education activist who was shot in the head by the Taliban, has been selected for the award, “for continuing to dream, and fight for girls the world over, after living a nightmare.”
Chinoy, Pakistan’s sole Oscar winner, has been selected to receive the award for her “for eye-opening films that give voice to the voiceless.”
Asia Game Changer awards are bestowed upon individuals, organisations and movements that inspire and enlighten others on an annual basis. Asia society has named Jack-Ma, founder of Alibaba group, as the Game Changer person of the year.
A total of 13 individuals and organisations have been selected to receive the award this year.
