#Pakistan - PM shouldn’t let ISPR chief make political statements: Bilawal

PPP Chairperson Bilawal Bhutto Zardari thinks Prime Minister Imran Khan should not let ISPR Major-General Asif Ghafoor make political statements, but empower ministers instead to speak about politics.
“If Khan sahib wants to give out education policies, he should let the education minister do it,” Bilawal said on Monday while speaking to the media in Islamabad.
He said that similarly, the foreign minister should make statements about the foreign politics of Pakistan, adding that PPP wants PM Khan to empower the appointed ministers of different departments.
‘The youth of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa should join politics’
Bilawal wants the government to encourage the youth of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to join politics. “We are fortunate that the youngsters of KP are not going towards terrorism, but support democracy,” he said.
He expressed his willingness to talk to the young people about their issues, adding that we should start talking about human rights and democracy.
‘Pakistan’s economic policies are not for the poor’
Bilawal was disappointed with the economic policies of Pakistan, as he thinks they are not favorable for the poor. He said PM Khan has also accepted his incapability that the current economic policies are not made for the people’s benefit.
By calling non-taxpayers frauds and corrupt, the farmers, labourers and people with their own business are getting scared, he said, adding that even a little mistake in their tax-filings can make them ‘dacoits’.
“If only two million people are paying taxes, are you saying the other people are robbers? The people with real businesses are not dacoits,” he said. People’s businesses will stop with the fear of being termed as robbers, he added.
Double standards
The PPP chairperson said the law should be the same for everyone and that the government shows double standards in punishing people. He said the government does not take any action against Jahangir Tareen. “Justice and rule of law is important in democracy,” he said.
He said Sharjeel Memon is in jail for the last two years without conviction. “Arrests should be made after conviction, just in Nawaz Sharif’s case,” he added.
Bilawal said PPP will stick to its ideologies and not get scared by any threats. “Do they think they can scare us with threats of arrests? We are the soldiers of Shaheed Benazir Bhutto!” he said.
“We gave our lives and blood for this country and we will not stay back,” he added.
