Manager, Provincial AIDS Control Program, Dr. Saleem here Friday said the number of patients carrying AIDs has risen to 150000 in Pakistan whereas only 25000 were registered so far with health authorities.
Dr Salim told a meeting here that Pakistan ranked number two in Asia with respect to number of AIDs patients, which is increasing 45pc annually.
The number of AIDs affected patients in KP is 4266, he said, adding AIDs Control Program has started registering HIV patients from 2005 in KP. Till date, 3903 patients ofAIDs have been provided free of cost medicines.
