Chairman Peoples Party Bilawal Bhutto on late former governor Punjab Salman Taseer’s 5th death anniversay said, he was a true hero of the nation, democracy and human rights.
Bilawal raised his concern on National Action Plan (NAP) said,that “PPP shall always stand against the misuse of religion-based laws by individuals or groups and asked the authorities to take up such misues for action as per the Point No. 9 of the NAP, which reads, “Taking effective steps against religious persecution.”
Statement of chairman further said that weaker segements of Pakistan and workers of People Party will never forget Shaheed Salman Taseer.
Bilawal also called for special prayers and homages for the soul of Salman Taseer to prove that former governor will never be forgotten.
On Janurary 4, five years ago, Salman Taseer was assassinated by his own guard Malik Mumtaz Qadri, motif of murder was that according to him, Taseer committed blasphemy, later apex court of Pakistan gave the decision that late Salman Taseer never committed any blasphemy.
