Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) MNAs Mir Ejaz Hussain Jakhrani, Nawab Wassan and Shahjehan Balouch had said the additional perks and facilities being utelised by former Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry were a burden on poor masses of the country. The fromer CJ was still using a 6000CC bullet proof car along with fuel and maintenance expenses at the national exchequer’s cost.
They said the former CJ had during his tenure as CJ claimed to be the minaret of justice and pro-masses entity, However, except extra judicial activism, no concrete efforts for the welfare of common man were missing on his part.
Meanwhile, the former CJ continued to enjoy extra benefits such as a 6000 CC bullet proof car along with fuel and maintenance from the government, which at the end had cost the common man to suffer.
They asked the former CJ that for making a manifest of self-accountability, he should relinquish all additional perks and facilities for the sake of common man. However, he should continue to enjoy with all perks and benefits as per law for which he was entitled.
