Nawaz Sharif threatening long march to avoid Mehran Bank scam: Wattoo

Minister for Kashmir Affairs Mian Manzoor Ahmad Wattoo Saturday said that the government accepts the verdict of the Supreme Court against Prime Minister Yusuf Raza Gilani and would file an appeal against it.Addressing a press conference here, Manzoor Wattoo said that the question of disqualification of a member of National Assembly could be decided by the speaker and she would give her decision after the detailed judgment was announced.The minister said that Nawaz Sharif was threatening long march to escape from Mehran Bank scandal but they are not afraid of such threats. He said the PPP was still following the politics of reconciliation and would not venture any action against Punjab government.Wattoo took strong exception to the statements of Sharif brothers and appealed the Supreme Court to take suo motu notice of the matter.He said by not writing a letter to the Swiss officials, Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani protected the constitution and law of the country and he is still prime minister of the country constitutionally. He pointed out that Pakistan's people court has given its verdict in the by-elections in Multan in favour of Prime Minister Gilani.Wattoo said all the allied parties went to the Supreme Court to show respect to the judiciary and express solidarity with the prime minister. He said democracy do not suits Sharif brothers and they were still doing the politics of ego.He pointed out that Nawaz Sharif filed appeal against the SC verdict after nine years and now talks of preventing Prime Minister Gilani from filing the appeal. He said after the apex court verdict, Sharif brothers have themselves become judges.The Kashmir Affairs minister said history bears testimony that when Sharifs are in power, they neither take others along nor they respect institutions. He said the PML-N is today completely isolated while the PPP is taking all the political forces along. He pointed out that these were the people who attacked the Supreme Court. He demanded an early verdict in the Mehran Bank scandal saying it is a very old case.Replying to a question, Manzoor Wattoo said President Zardari is the strongest among political leaders and the coming time will prove this. He said the prime minister went to the Supreme Court on foot proving his respect and his name would be written in history.
