Veteran Journalist Nusrat Javed claimed that he escaped an assassination attempt last night in Islamabad.
In a tweet late on Friday, Nusrat Javed alleged Prime Minister Imran Khan of trying to get him killed.
“It is 1:16 and the Prime Minister of Pakistan has tried to get me killed. I am still Alice’s by the way m,” he wrote.
In another tweet, the journalist said, “It is 1:16 and the Prime Minister of Pakistan has tried to get me killed. I am still Alice’s by the way m.”
While the law enforcement agencies or the government have not responded to the allegation yet, opposition parties and journalist community are condemning the attack.
Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Ahsan Iqbal while strongly condemning the cowardly attack on Nusrat Javed said, “Such acts can’t silence voice of truth and reason.
”
“Shocked to hear about attack on veteran journalist @javeednusrat last night. This calls for an immediate inquiry and @interiorminister must answer for why and how this happened. No room for “Information fog”on this, otherwise we condone impunity,” she wrote.
Meanwhile, the journalists are also condemning the attack and demanding an investigation.
