Pakistan not to extend Hafiz Saeed’s detention
The JuD leader will remain under house arrest until the end of this month under the current order.
Pakistan’s government has withdrawn its request for extending the detention of Jamaat-ud-Dawa leader Hafiz Saeed, wanted by the United States.
Yahya Mujahid, a spokesman for JuD, said on October 14 that the government withdrew its application for a fifth detention extension for Saeed, but that he will remain under house arrest until the end of October under the current order.
The U.N. Security Council labelled the Jamaat-ud-Dawa leader a terrorist front group in 2008.
