Chairman Senate Raza Rabbani Saturday cancelled a visit of Pakistani senators to Washington over unnecessary delay in their visa processing.
A delegation of senators headed by Deputy Chairman Molana Abdul Ghafoor Haideri was scheduled to leave for the United States on February 10. The deputy chairman, in this regard, had submitted a visa request last week.
There had been unnecessary delay in processing of visas by the US embassy, which irked the Senate chairman leading to cancellation of the visit.
The US embassy, however, had issued visa to Senator Salahuddin Tirmizi.
Rabbani said the delegation will not go to New York until an explanation by the United States.
