The Provincial leadership of the Pakistan Peoples’ Party (PPP) has said that the woes of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa have increased under the rule of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf.
Speaking at the party convention, provincial head of the party Engineer Humayun Khan said that PTI did not deliver in accordance with its claims and hence, people will not be encouraged to vote for the party in the next general elections. “Our party leadership stands united, we will form the next provincial government as the present government has failed to deliver,” said Humayun Khan. Senior provincial leadership of the party, including former president Khanzada Khan, Zahir Shah, Noor Alam Khan and other leaders were present during the convention held at the residence of the party leader Iftikhar Jhagra. Humayun claimed that the PPP was being organised at divisional level now and that he would himself conduct interviews of the party leaders and would present the names to the party chairman.
The leaders also spoke about the work done by PPP in the past claiming that it always aimed to uplift the lives of the masses. He added that China-Pakistan Economic Corridor was one such project initiated by the PPP government, but the present government took all the credit and politicised the project. “This party has made huge sacrifices for the country, it has given the country a constitution, and the leaders have even sacrificed their lives for the sake of democracy,” Humayun Khan said.
“There is no disunity among party workers and its leadership,” said Senator Khanzada Khan, former provincial president of the party. “It is a democratic party where every leader and worker has the right to express his/ her views,” he claimed. Criticising the provincial government, Khanzada Khan said that all the provincial institutions are facing severe crises, provincial exchequer is empty while PTI members have increased their salaries by 400%.
“They have no interest in resolving the problems faced by the masses,” Khanzada Khan said.
