PPP leader points out arrests of alleged Islamic State members

Pakistan People’s Party leader Maula Bux Chandio on Saturday said that the Sindh government welcomes accountability process but cannot accept victimisation.

Speaking to journalists after attending a ceremony, he said that it was not acceptable that the 'terrorists' were being arrested in Punjab but action was being conducted in Sindh. He said that the federal government and its prominent ministers had claimed time and again that there was no presence of the Islamic State in Pakistan but how it was possible that the militants and affiliates were being arrested in Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

He criticised the federal government, saying that if the centre want to keep a close watch on Sindh it should also hold itself accountable. He said that PPP does not have any enmity with the ruling Pakistan Muslim League-N. He said that those who had admitted things that others were being forced to admit should also be focused upon under the National Action Plan otherwise it would raise questions on it.
