Opposition leader in the National Assembly, Syed Khursheed Shah on Tuesday demanded of the government to form a judicial commission (JC) over attacks on Army Public School, Peshawar and Bacha Khan University, Charsadda.
“How will we face the world if one or two more such incidents took place,” he warned while speaking to media persons in his chamber in the lower house.
He asked as to who is responsible for non-implementation of the National Action Plan (NAP) and National Counter Terrorism Authority (NACTA). “It’s high time the government realized its responsibilities,” he added.
Demanding formation of JC over APS and Charsadda incidents, he said the Prime Minister should have cut short his foreign trip and return home after Bacha Khan varsity attack.
He regretted that NACTA has not yet been made functional; not even a website has been developed for the authority. “They have funds for Metro bus service but nor for NACTA,” he added.
Khursheed Shah said India and other states are mounting pressure on Pakistan to take action against terrorists. “Who will make them realize that Pakistan itself is a victim of terrorism,” he asked.
He said Interior Minister chaudhry Nisar has expressed his dissociation with the Parliament.
He pointed out that even the Indian prime minister Narendra Modi denounced the Charsadda university attack but no such condemnation came from Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar.
