The presidential candidates are making pre-holiday fundraising rounds, hoping that the seasonal spirit of giving extends beyond filling their stockings to stuffing their PACs. And it’s a particularly A-listy week for Democratic hopeful Hillary Clinton, who’s set to rub some very famous elbows in her cash quest.
On Tuesday, author and radio host Garrison Keillor will throw a fundraiser in Minneapolis, and Wednesday, uber-investor Warren Buffett will pass the hat for Clinton at an event in Omaha (sounds like a moneyed crowd; $27,000 gets you into a private reception), per the Sunlight Foundation’s database.
On Thursday, the host crew of a Hillary fundraiser in New York will include the former sec state’s daughter, Chelsea Clinton, as well as actress Drew Barrymore and her husband, art consultant Will Kopelman, and designer to the stars Randy Florke. Meanwhile, musician Sting will host a Hillary Victory Fund fundraiser in New York that same night — former president Bill Clinton will rep the family for that one, where tickets go for $33,400.
