Opposition leader in National Assembly and leader of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Khursheed Shah on Wednesday said a politician is ‘a public property’, thus, none of his/her actions are personal.
Talking to media persons here, Khursheed Shah advised Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Imran Khan that instead of getting involved in a media battle, he should go out on a foreign trip.
He claimed that popularity graph for PTI and Pakistan Muslim League-N has been on a steady decline.
Ruling out any ‘minus-one’ formula in PPP, he said Bilawal Bhutto Zardari will be part of the new parliament.
“Asif Zardari has been in contact while Bilawal Bhutto is running the affairs of the party,” he said, adding ‘from now onwards we elders will guide while the kids will work’.
He said between the independent candidates and popular parties in the Local Government elections the electorate chose the former. He predicted that the results of the first phase of LG polls will impact the second.
Khursheed Shah said the incumbent government does have its influence on the LG polls.
He said due to the ‘public perception’ a number of PPP candidates contested the LG polls in Punjab as independents.
