Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) MNAs Aftab Shaban Mirani and Sardar Kamal Khan Chaang said the lack of action against those involved in massive scale corruption in Nandipur Power Project is raising fingers of impartiality of the national action plan. The political parties, both smaller and bigger and the media have all exposed the massive corruption in this power project but still they are waiting to see the FIA and NAB in action.
In a statement issued from the PPP Media Cell Sindh, they said it is not known as why the FIA and NAB are so brisk in their actions against alleged corruption in smaller provinces especially Sindh province while violating the provincial autonomy. The Nandipur Power Project has now become the biggest scam as of today but the federal agencies are reluctant on taking any action.
They said the Punjab Chief Minister Mian Shahbaz Sharif had promised to the nation that the menace of load shedding would be overcome in 6 months, 1 year and lastly in 3 years but none of his commitments are yet fulfilled.
They said the Nandipur Power Project corruption case is not just a case of corruption but it is a case of deceiving the nation, looting the public exchequer and depriving the people of their right of getting electricity despite a huge money amounting to Rs.87 billion has so far been wasted.
They said it was the public money that the PMLN has spent on Nandipur Power Project but not a single unit of electricity is yet produced. It is a clear manifest of inefficiency of PMLN’s Punjab and federal governments that they appointed blue-eyed and posted them on key posts while ignoring that they did not have any professional expertise for running power projects.
