Bilawal Bhutto Zardari Chairman Pakistan Peoples Party has paid glowing tributes to former Prime Minister Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto on her 62nd birthday and pledged to pick the thread of her struggle for democratic and an egalitarian Pakistan, she left at Liaquat Bagh Rawalpindi on the evening of December 27, 2007.
“Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto lives on in every home in the form of nation’s daughters, sisters and mothers and each of them will carry her legacy forward,” Bilawal Bhutto Zardari stated in a message on the eve of her 62nd birthday being celebrated tomorrow.
PPP Chairman said his mother fought against dictatorial regimes with full bravery and earned an unmatched place in the history. She lived and died for her people and country. She laid down her life for a cause to emancipate the people from exploitation and give them equal rights.
“Her father Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto gave the nation nuclear power and she founded missile system to make defence of Pakistan invincible, though both accepted martyrdom as a price in dictatorial regimes,” he added.
Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said that Jiyalas had a special place in her heart and he will continue to rely on Jiyalas to carry the message of the martyred leadership to the barefoot and downtrodden masses.
Recalling Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto’s popular quote, “You can imprison a man, but not an idea. You can exile a man, but not an idea. You can kill a man, but not an idea”, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said her philosophy continues to be the guiding principles for the PPP leadership, workers and the toiling masses across the length and breadth of Pakistan.
