Pakistan - ‘Go Imran Go’ slogan of aggrieved hearts

Federal Information Minister Pervaiz Rashid on Wednesday said that it was because of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan’s negative politics that he was accosted by “ Go Imran Go” slogans during his visit to the Army Public School and advised him to support the government on national agenda.

Talking to newsmen outside the Parliament House, Senator Rashid said that he had offered Imran Khan to identify the word “bogus” in the audit report of NA-122 constituency and also conduct forensic test of the ballot papers which he claimed had been printed by any private press.

He said that the PTI chief did not responded to any of the two offers, which implied that he was doing the “politics of lies”. Pervaiz Rashid said that due to the same negative approach in politics Imran Khan had to face “Go Imran Go” slogans when he arrived in Peshawar to visit the Army Public School.

“What Imran had to face outside the school was reminiscent of his style of politics against the Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N). The nation chanted ‘Go Imran Go’ because Imran introduced them to these chants which should matter to him since they are coming from mournful parents who have lost their children. The slogan, ‘Go Nawaz Go’, coined by Imran from atop his container has evaporated in thin air,” he added.

Senator Rashid urged Imran to return to mainstream politics and the National Assembly to serve the nation instead of doing politics of agitation and said that the PTI leader was trying to fool people on the issue of alleged rigging by levelling baseless allegations.

The information minister criticised the misbehaviour of police with protesting parents of the victims of Army Public School during Imran Khan’s visit to the school and said that all citizens have the right to stage peaceful demonstrations.

Naemul Haq of PTI, on the other hand, blamed Pervez Rashid for politicising the situation. He further explained that Imran Khan visited the Army Public School to express solidarity, adding that he was warmly welcomed by the students.
