"There is a growing recognition and public acknowledgement by the international community that Pakistan pursues terrorism as an instrument of state policy," Minister of State for Home Haribhai Parathibhai Chaudhary told Lok Sabha.
The Minister said India has conveyed strongly to Pakistan the need for it to honour its commitment of not allowing its territory and areas under its control to be used for terrorism against India in any manner.
"The government continues to take all necessary steps to safeguard India's territorial integrity and safety and security of its people," he said in reply to a written question.
Replying to another question, Chaudhary said that India and the United States have not entered into any agreement on the issue of terrorism.
"However, in the joint statement issued during the visit of the Prime Minister to the US, the Prime Minister and the President of the US reaffirmed their deep concern over the continued threat posed by terrorism and underlined the need for continued comprehensive global efforts to combat and defeat terrorism," he said.
