Pakistan - 4 more polio cases reported from FATA, KP, Balochistan

The polio virus has put the future of billions of children in Pakistan at stake. Four more cases have been reported from FATA, Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtukhwa. According to recent reports, the current figures of polio cases are three hundred and sixty-six.
A three-day polio campaign has started in eleven sensitive union councils of Karachi on Friday. The campaign however could not be initiated in areas including Guddap Town, Rehri, Landhi and Bin Qasim because of lack of security measures.
During the campaign, about 2 lac 72 thousand children would be given polio drops. On the first day of polio campaign areas like Guddap Town, Landhi, Rehri and Bin Qasim could not begin with the campaign due to lack of security.
The children in the same union councils were not administered polio drops during the last polio campaign. According to Karachi Commission, the number of reluctant parents is gradually decreasing and should be brought to the lowest level.
