http://www.brecorder.comChairman of the Pakistan Peoples Party Bilawal Bhutto Zardari on Friday said that the PPP had always served the masses with distinction and would continue to do so in future as well. Bilawal, in his message on the 45th founding day of PPP, said "On this day let us also reiterate our commitment to tread the footsteps of our leaders Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto and Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto to build a modern, progressive and democratic Pakistan in which everyone, particularly the poor, the dispossessed, the marginalized and the minorities, all live with honour and dignity." The PPP Chairman asked the old guard of the party to educate the people, particularly the youth, about why the party was established, the achievements and sacrifices made by its leaders and workers and the political challenges that lie ahead. He said that the youth provided impetus and drive and called upon them to play their part. "Both Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto and Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto took the reins of the party and the country in prime of their lives and it was the first political party that gave a Youth Policy to the country," he said. The PPP Chairman said that the party's struggle and achievements for democracy and alleviating the sufferings of the poor during the past 46 years would always be remembered. He said that the adoption of the unanimous 1973 Constitution, giving voice to the voiceless, strengthening defence through nuclear and missile technology and giving rights to the minorities, labour and women were some of the major achievements of the party. Bilawal also paid glowing tributes to the party workers for their courage and sacrifices. "On this day our thoughts also go out to the martyred leaders of the party Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto and Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto as well as to the hundreds of martyrs of democracy, who gave their lives for the cause of democracy and empowering people," he said. He also appreciated the contribution of all members of the law enforcing agencies and the people, who laid down their lives to fight terrorists and militants - the enemies of progress, democracy and moderation.
