Pakistan: Delegation of Sikh and Hindu communities called on PPP Patron in Chief

Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, Patron-In-Chief, Pakistan Peoples Party has asked CM Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah to constitute a committee under CM’s leadership with representative of all minorities, IG Sindh, law enforcement agencies and local MPs, which would meet once a month to address the grievances of minority communities. A monthly report will be presented to PPP Patron-in-Chief by the committee.

Bilawal Bhuto Zardari also condemned the recent violence in the worship places of Sikh community and assured full security to be provided to all worship areas through Sindh Police.

PPP Patron-in-Chief was talking to a delegation of Sikh and Hindu communities, which called on him at Bilawal House today. Chief Minister, Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah, Sindh Ministers Gianchand Essrani, Sharjil Memon, Mukesh Kumar Chawla, Senator Hariram Kishori Lal, MNA Ramesh Lal, MPAs Lalchand Ukrani, Khatumal Jeewan, Engineer Pesumal and others attended the meeting. Chief of Staff Hashaam Riaz Sheikh, Advisors to Bilawal Bhutto Zardari Jameel Soomro, and Surendar Valasai were also at the meeting. Sikh delegation comprised of Sardar Ramesh Singh, Karan Singh, Mahar Singh, Manmohan Singh, Tara Singh, Hira Singh and others.

Addressing the meeting, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said his Party has always given high priority to the minority issues including protection of their worship places and safeguarding their interests.

He said police jobs will be ensured over and above minority quotas where the minority population is in higher numbers while special budgetary allocations will be given for minority-related projects.

PPP Patron-In-Chief further said he has been informed that Chief Minister, Sindh has approved funds for procurement of ambulances and CCTV cameras in all the worship areas.

Earlier, Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah briefed the meeting about the measures taken by Sindh government for the protection of minorities and their worship places in Sindh. Sindh Home Secretary, IGP and other high officials were also present in the meeting.
