KARACHI / ISLAMABAD / LAHORE / PESHAWAR / QUETTA, October 29: Chairman Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has commended his party’s office-bearers and Jeyalas (diehard workers) for the gigantic public protests across Pakistan against the paralysing inflation because of the devastatingly failed policies of the PTI-regime in Pakistan.

Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has said that slogans to get rid of Imran Khan are now being echoed in nook and corner of the country.
According to a statement issued by the Media Cell Bilawal House, Chairman PPP, appreciated the provincial and district organisations of the four provinces, Azad Jammu & Kashmir, and Gilgit-Baltistan chapters, as well as all sister-organisations including students, youth, women, labourers and farmers wings for holding historical protests.

Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari applauded the provincial and district organisations of Punjab and Islamabad for staging protests against inflation in province and in Islamabad.
He said that the chain of historic protests against inflation has proved that the economic massacre of the masses could no longer continue.
By protesting against inflation in every district today, the Pakistanis have rejected Imran Khan’s policies based on his incompetence, he added.
He further said that PPP has represented the sentiments of all Pakistanis by holding protests against inflation.

Chairman PPP eulogised the provincial and district organizations of his party’s South Punjab chapter for holding mass protests in the Wasaib and said that the people of Wasaib have once again manifested the resistance by protesting against inflation in every city there.
He said that the people of Wasaib, who are cursing the rulers on inflation, knew well that the PTI-led puppet government and Imran Khan are the real culprits, adding that the public protests have exposed the fabricated popularity of the selected Prime Minister.
“Imran Khan will be remembered as one of the worst characters in history who destroyed the country economically”‘ said Chairman PPP.
He praised the provincial and district organisations of Sindh chapter for producing huge protest rallies against inflation in the province.
He said that Sindh’s resistance against dictatorial regimes and the puppets has always been a party’s Hallmark.
He said that from Karachi to Kashmore, the people of Sindh came out against inflation and pronounced their verdict from top of the roof against the PTI regime. He further said that today, the public has also rejected Imran Khan’s attempts to drown the city of lights, Karachi into darkness.
“Today’s protest is a message for Imran Khan that the nation is not ready to bear him as their ruler”, he maintained.

Chairman PPP has praised provincial and district organisations of his PPP Khyber Pakhtunkhwa chapter for staging massive protests against inflation accross the province, and said that the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa have rejected the so-called “Tabdeeli Tsunami”, adding that it was a public referendum as people in every district of province took to the streets to protest against inflation.

Pakistan continues to give air access to US, Congress told

A senior Pentagon official has informed Congress that Pakistan continues to give the United States access to its airspace and the two sides are also talking about keeping that access open.

US Undersecretary of Defence for Policy Colin Kahl shared this information with the Senate Armed Services Committee on Tuesday during an open/closed hearing on “Security in Afghanistan and in the regions of South and Central Asia”.

He was replying to a question from the committee’s chairman Senator Jack Reed, who asked him to update the panel on “our arrangement with Pakistan regarding their cooperation with us in counterterrorism”. The senator referred to recent press reports claiming that Pakistan was working with the Taliban to attack the militant Islamic State group.

“Pakistan is a challenging actor, but they don’t want Afghanistan to be a safe haven for terrorist attacks, external attacks, not just against Pakistan but against others” as well, Dr Kahl told the open session. “They continue to give us access to Pakistani airspace and we are in conversation about keeping that access open.”

Pakistan police were shocked after TLP workers fired sub-machine guns during protests, reports say.

Last week, TLP workers had launched a rally from Lahore to Islamabad demanding that the Pakistan government release their leader Saad Rizvi.
Security officials in Pakistan are shocked after it emerged that members of the banned Tehreek-i-Labbaik Pakistan party reportedly used sub-machine guns (SMGs) against policemen during anti-government protests, prompting the authorities to conclude that the hardline Islamists had been turned into a “militant group”, a media report said on Saturday.
A mobile phone footage, which showed members of the party firing 80 rounds of SMGs at policemen in Kamoke, in Pakistan’s Punjab province, on Thursday, was presented during a high-level security meeting, the Dawn newspaper reported.Other incidents of attacks were also recorded, which showed two policemen succumbing to bullet wounds, while 16 others sustaining injuries from the shots fired by TLP members, the report said.
“It has shocked police high-ups from where the TLP was getting weapons and training to use them,” the police official was quoted as saying by the newspaper.
He added that all participants of the high-level security meeting had reached the conclusion that the TLP had been turned into a ‘militant group’ and the government must review its policy seriously towards this outfit, the report said.On Saturday, thousands of TLP workers were camped in Wazirabad, after talks between the government and the party leadership remained inconclusive, the Express Tribune reported. Meanwhile, Minister of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony Pir Noor-ul-Haq Qadri said on Saturday that a 12-member panel was formed to act as a negotiator between the Pakistan government and TLP, according to a report in Geo News.
The minister said religious leaders from across the country met Prime Minister Imran Khan and expressed their resolve to solve the issue peacefully, the report said.
Last week, the TLP workers had launched a rally from Lahore to Islamabad demanding that the Pakistan government release their leader Saad Rizvi, who was arrested last year for demonstrations against France after a French magazine published caricatures of Prophet Muhammad, and expel the French ambassador.
