Pakistan - 54 cases of Swine flu confirmed in Punjab

Swine flu is sweeping through Punjab as one more person fell prey to the disease on Sunday, taking the death toll to 13 in the province.

At least 54 cases have been confirmed throughout the province by the illness until now, while 100 cases have been reported to different medical centres.

A woman named Yasmeen died on Sunday due to the disease. The number of patients affected by the disease has reached 14 in the provincial metropolis. Overall, five deaths have been reported in Rawalpindi, four in Multan while one person died each in cities of Lahore, Chakwal, Gujranwala and Sahiwal. Advisor on Health Khawaja Salman Rafique has stated that every effort is being put in to contain the disease. He said necessary arrangements to stop the spread of the disease have been completed.
