Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari on Sunday came down hard on the ruling Pakistan Muslim League-N, accusing the latter of using National Action Plan (NAP) for political victimization.
“What is the National Action Plan to you other than a tool for political victimization,” Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said while addressing a big gathering of workers and supporters here at Ghari Khuda Bakhsh, Larkana on the occasion of 8th death anniversary of Benazir Bhutto.
In his emotionally charged speech, Bilawal said PPP puts its full weight behind the NAP but the action plan ‘you are working on’ is not the one to which all the political parties had given their go ahead.
He said ‘this is not a national action plan but an N-League action plan’.
“Tell me which key terrorist or their abettor was nabbed under the action plan?” he asked the government, adding, the rulers have a soft corner for the terrorists.
Bilawal said people are asking as to when the conspiracy against provinces will end in the name of NAP.
He demanded of the PMLN-led government to form what he called a parliamentary security committee to monitor the NAP.“If the parliament did not listen to us, we will be forced to knock at the door of the people’s court and then there will be ‘Damadam Mast Qalandar’,” Bilawal warned the government.
He also criticized the government for their plans for Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) and the Steel Mills, saying ‘Mian Sahib why are you inviting auction bids for PIA and Steel Mills’. “Does anyone sell his mother’s jewellery to meet his own expenses?”
He said PPP will not allow economic killing of the people.
He said on the one hand the army is rendering sacrifices of lives while on the other people of Waziristan are become homeless.
Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said his mother preferred death over urrender before the terrorists. “Pakistan got the gift of democracy as a result of my mother’s sacrifice,” he added.
Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said PPP faced target killing in every era and it continues even today. But, with each strike PPP emerged stronger than before, he added.
He said he was the one who raised his voice against the scourge of terrorism. “It was a time when you were silent and busy in negotiations. But, not too long after that you also came to the same page with me,” he added.
He said PPP will, through its struggle, transform the country into a model of peace. He said his party aims for a country where there is education and employment, where minorities are secure and justice is quick and affordable and where there is no distinction between men and women.
Other PPP leaders, including, Aitzaz Ahsan, Agha Siraj Durrani, Nisar Khuhro, Rehman malik and Sindh Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah also spoke on the occasion.
