Pakistan among least peaceful nations in the world

Pakistan ranks 9th among the least peaceful countries in the world, while it is also on the list of countries where the security situation is rapidly deteriorating, according to a global peace index released by the Institute for Economics and Peace.
The rankings are based on the presence of militancy in Pakistan, and although the number of deaths in Pakistan has not increased in the last one year the ranking is owing to the number of high-profile incidents, such as the Army Public School terror attacks in Peshawar and the Jinnah International Airport attack.
The index has compiled a list of the most peaceful and least peaceful countries after examining internal conflicts, expenditure on arms and terror and violence activities. Iceland has been listed as the most peaceful country in the world.
