Pakistan - PPP for implementing Yemen resolution

PPP leader Khursheed Shah on Thursday asked the PML-N-led federal government to abide by parliament’s resolution on Yemen conflict.
He was speaking to reporters after visiting Hoti House here to condole the death of ANP Senator Azam Khan Hoti.
Khursheed Shah was accompanied by PPP central information secretary Qamar Zaman Kaira, provincial president Senator Haji Khanzada Khan and former provincial minister Syed Zahir Shah. The PPP leader said his party would resist if the government didn’t implement parliament’s resolution on Yemen conflict.
He said parliament had nothing to do with Shahbaz Sharif-led delegation’s visit to Saudi Arabia and that it appeared to be the prime minister’s personal decision to send the delegation to Riyadh.
“Pakistan will stand by Saudi Arabia if its sovereignty is challenged by anyone,” he said. Shah said Pakistan should mediate resolution of Yemen conflict. He said Pakistan had suffered a lot in the past by wrong foreign policy decisions and therefore, the current rulers must be very careful while deciding about foreign policy issues.
The PPP leader said Speaker of the National Assembly Ayaz Sadiq had already given his ruling regarding the resignations of PTI MNAs and therefore, it was not appropriate to demand acceptance of those resignations.
He said the judicial commission tasked with probing the election rigging charge had begun operations and that his party would provide the commission with rigging evidence.
Shah said he advised PTI MNAs time and again to return to parliament but they didn’t listen to the advice.
“It will be a big challenge for PTI government in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to hold free and transparent local body elections in the province,” he said.
