Pakistan - Two polio cases reported in Sindh, one in Balochistan



Three new polio cases were reported from Sindh and Balochistan on Saturday.
According to details, two polio cases were detected in Dadu district of Sindh, bringing the total number of children affected by the crippling disease since January 2015 to 16.
A new polio case emerged in Balochistan’s Loralai district where a one-year-old boy was detected with the crippling disease.
According to details, Naimatullah, son of Dolat Khan, was not vaccinated during the polio campaign in the district.
Although health officials have termed this the second confirmed case of polio in Balochistan in 2015, a polio case was earlier confirmed in Shafi Mohammed in Chagai district on the first day of 2015.
As many as 23 cases of poliovirus were detected in Balochistan in 2014. Meanwhile, at least nine polio workers and security guards have so far been killed during the last five months in Quetta and Zhob.
