Pakistan - Imran, Zardari discuss Senate elections

Former president Asif Ali Zardari and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan on Sunday spoke over phone regarding the upcoming Senate elections and overall political situation in the country, Dunya News reported.
According to reports, Khan said that ‘horse trading’ is a ‘dark spot’ on the forehead of politicians, adding that the 22ndAmendment in the constitution will help get rid of it.
Reportedly, both leaders discussed possible ways of mutual-cooperation in Senate elections and have likely struck a cooperation deal at least in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
A new controversy, however, emerged out of this episode when PTI central spokeswoman Shireen Mazari said that Zardari called Imran Khan whereas former president’s spokesman Farhatullah Babar said PTI chief was the one who made the call.
