At Least 5 Militants Reported Killed In Pakistan Drone Strike

Reports say a U.S. drone strike has killed at least five militants in northwestern Pakistan near the Afghan border.
In the second such attack this year, Pakistani security officials said the January 15 strike targeted a Taliban compound in the village of Laddha in South Waziristan.
Three militants were also reported wounded in the strike.
The area has been a hub for Al-Qaeda and Taliban militants for years.
The military says it has killed more than 1,500 militants and lost 125 soldiers since it launched an offensive in North Waziristan in June.
The army and pro-government paramilitary forces have increased attacks on militant positions in the tribal areas following last month's massacre at a school in Peshawar when militants killed some 150 people, nearly all of them schoolchildren.
