Pakistan - ‘Taliban or Pakistan, which side is Imran on?’

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan must clarify whether he is with the Taliban or Pakistan, said the Sindh education minister on Thursday.

Addressing the media at his office, Nisar Khuhro said Khan must rise to the occasion and publicly declare war against the Taliban.

Khuhro said Khan must do away with the impression that the PTI and the Taliban were ideological brothers.

He said the PTI chief had demanded resignations of the prime minister and the Punjab chief minister over alleged rigging in the 2013 general elections and the Model Town incident, respectively.

Now Khan must demand resignation of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa chief minister for failing to prevent the Peshawar tragedy, he added.

The education minister said all Pakistanis believed that since the Taliban had accepted responsibility for the attack, the Peshawar police should register a case against the central leaders of the terrorist organisation.

He said the PTI chief should improve the state of affairs in his province because it lacked the mechanism to deal with terrorist attacks.
