Pakistan: Setback for PTI: Dr Qadri leaves for US tomorrow

In a potential setback to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) ongoing anti-government protest movement, Pakistan Awami Tehreek’s (PAT) chief Dr Tahirul Qadri decided to leave for US on Wednesday for treatment.
According to private Express New TV, a 5-member medical team examined Dr Qadri at his residence and declared his health condition precarious.
The doctors, according to sources, advised PAT chief to immediately go abroad for treatment in the wake of his unstable condition.
They said that Dr Qadri’s blood pressure was irregular and he had heart problem too.
After doctors’ advise, Dr Qadri has decided to go to US for treatment. He will leave for US at 6:00 am on Wednesday morning from Allama Iqbal International Airport.
It is to be mentioned here that PAT and PTI were running anti-government movement to oust the government of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif. Analysts views Dr Qadri’s illness and subsequent decision of PAT to suspend its anti-government sit-in and meetings was a setback for the PTI which has recently unveiled its Plan C envisaging countrywide shutdown to force the government to quit.
