Punjab Executive Committee of the PPP which met here today under the chair of Mian Manzoor Ahmed Wattoo decided to observe martyrdom day of Shaheed Benazir Bhutto falling on December 27 this year to express total solidarity with the families of the victims of Peshawar massacre perpetrated by the Taliban.
The meeting was attended by Nadeem Afzal Chan,Political Advisor to the Co- Chairman, Secreatry General PPP, Tanvir Ashraf Kaira, divisional co-dominators, district presidents and office bearers of Lahore. He said that with the appointment of Nadeem Afzal Chan the Party affairs between the Central Party and the provincial parties would run smoothly because he possessed special acumen as an enabling facilitator.
In the meeting it was also decided that the observance of the martyrdom day would be held at the district levels with Quran Khani, Dua and candlelight vigil by the PPP workers as a token respect for the Peshawar victims. The participants will also express their resolve to fight out terrorism till the last terrorists from this country.
After the meeting, Mian Manzoor Ahmed Wattoo while talking to media said that the PPP stood out in rendering sacrifices adding the mindset assassinated Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhuttoo and Benazir Bhutto because they were the most popular leader and in their presence they could not implement their insidious designs against the people of Pakistan.
He said that PPP Co- Chairman had been consistent in fighting out terrorists with full force of the state because they were totally devoid of civility and deeply committed to barbarity. He added that today all the political leadership had come to the same conclusion that vindicated the stance of PPP and its Chairman.
He maintained that he was glad that the entire leadership of the country was on the same page to defeat the evil that was determined to impose its toxic, redundant and obscurantist ideology at the gun point.
He underscored the importance of absolute clarity in the terrorism policy because any narrative that was ambiguous would never bear the desirable fruits and perils of its being rather counter-productive could not be ruled out.
Mian Manzoor Ahmed Wattoo also suggested to the other provincial PPP leaders to observe the martyrdom day of Shaeed Benazir Bhutto on the same patter as being observed in the Punjab.
