Anti-US and NATO demonstration due for Kabul on Sunday

A demonstration is due to take place in capital Kabul on Sunday against the alleged occupation of Afghanistan by US and NATO forces.
The demonstration has been arranged by Solidarity party of Afghanistan, which is a small and left wing political party in the country. The party was founded in 2003 and focuses on secularism, women’s rights, democracy, and opposition to the US/NATO presence in Afghanistan. Sunday’s demonstration has also been organized to show support to Kurdish fighters who are resisting the Islamic State fighters in Kobani. The demonstration against the US and NATO forces presence in the country comes as the new government of Afghanistan signed the bilateral security with Washington and NATO status of force agreement.
The two agreements gives a legal status for the presence of US and NATO forces in the country beyond 2014 to implement the new NATO mission to train, advise and support Afghan national security forces and fight against the remnants of al Qaeda in the country. The draft bilateral security agreement was approved by majority during the consultative Loya Jirga last year which was attended by tribal elders from across the country.
