Former prime minister and Vice Chairman of Pakistan Peoples Party Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani here on Tuesday said that the PPP will fully support the Federal Government's decision to launch operation against Taliban in North Waziristan as it is in the interest of the country. Addressing a meet-the-press here at Karachi Press Club, Gilani was of the view that Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz government should revise its policies and approach in running the country's business to win more support and cooperation from other democratic forces. He recounted the successful policies of last PPP-led coalition government under the guidance of former president Asif Ali Zardari. "Despite having simple majority, we proved as the best coalition democratic government. Others should also follow the same spirit," he added. He said that PPP government and the party had also shown great restraint and honored every decision of the Supreme Court of Pakistan headed by Justice Muhammad Iftikhar Chaudhry. Referring to his disqualification the former prime minister maintained that he had all respects for the apex court but he could not violate the Constitution of the country by writing a letter against then president of Pakistan Asif Ali Zardari who enjoyed immunity under the Constitution. He informed the media that he would file a review petition soon in SCP against his disqualification. Gilani said that he appeared before High Court of Sindh on Tuesday to get relief from his non-bailable warrants issued by Federal Investigation Agency ( FIA). He succeeded in convincing the court that the case against him is constitutional and FIA cannot issue non-bailable warrants against him. The honourable court suspended the warrants against him and was released against personal guarantee. The former prime minister reiterated PPP's stance on creating South Punjab province and urged the PML-N government to the same at the earliest possible. President PPP Karachi, Abdul Qadir Patel was also present.
