Bilawal Bhutto: PPP to stand with media in case of any attack

Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) patron-in-chief, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari Saturday said that his party would not tolerate any compromise over freedom of expression (FoE) and added it would stand steadfast with the journalist community in case of any attack, Local TV reported.
In a statement issued on the World Press Freedom Day, Bilawal Bhutto recalled that PPP and the journalist community together had faced the martial law curbs on freedom of expression during the last four decades. He said that free media has played a key role in strengthening the democracy and upholding the constitution.
Bilawal Bhutto said that PPP has always condemned any maltreatment to journalists. He said that the Kalashnikov culture of General Zia era still haunting every peace professing segments of the society.
