Putin: No-one nabbed for same-sex relations in Russia

Only promotion to underage is banned, Russia's president said at a meeting with Sochi Olympics volunteers on Friday
Russian President Vladimir Putin has insisted that no kind of criminal or administrative responsibility for homosexual relations exists in Russia unlike it does in many other countries and no-one is nabbed here for practicing such relationships.
Still, the president reminded of the law banning the promotion of homosexuality and paedophilia to underage children.
“We don't outlaw anything and don't nab anyone,” Putin said at a meeting with Sochi Olympics volunteers on Friday. “Our law prescribes no responsibility for these kinds of relationships unlike laws in some other countries do.” For example, several U.S. states envisage criminal responsibility for homosexual connections, he said. “That’s why you can feel safe and free here but please leave our children in peace,” Putin said.
