President Zardari donates blood to commemorate BB’s sacrifice on her birth anniversary
On the 60th birth anniversary of Shaheed Benazir Bhutto on Friday, President Asif Ali Zardari donated blood to commemorate the sacrifices of the deceased leader. The blood donation was a gesture to pay tribute to the sacrifices of Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto - the second chairperson of Pakistan Peoples Party, the twice-elected prime minister of Pakistan and the Muslim world’s first woman prime minister.
The President’s daughter Aseefa Bhutto Zardari also donated blood at the Naudero House here.
Sindh Chief Minister, Syed Qaim Ali Shah, Senior Provincial Minister, Nisar Ahmed Khuhro, Speaker Sindh Assembly, Agha Siraj Durrani, and MNA Muhammad Ayaz Soomro were also present on the occasion.
Earlier, the President accompanied by Aseefa Bhutto Zardari visited the graveyard of Garhi Khuda Baksh. They offered Fateha for the departed soul of Shaheed Benazir Bhutto.
He also visited the graves of other Shaheeds (martyrs) of Bhutto family including Begum Nusrat Bhutto, Mir Murtaza Bhutto and Mir Shahnawaz Bhutto.
President Zadari laid floral wreaths over the graves and recited verses from the Holy Quran.
President Zardari in his message on the 60th birth anniversary on Benazir Bhutto has said that the call of Benazir Bhutto to stand up against extremism and to banish poverty and ignorance is a roadmap to make Pakistan a modern and pluralistic state.
He termed Benazir as a visionary and far-sighted leader.
“She believed in a moderate and pluralistic Pakistan where the ultimate choice of the people was determined by ballot and not bullet.”
