President Lee Meets with Visiting Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari

President Lee Myung-bak met with visiting Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari Tuesday morning, to discuss ways to enhance cooperation in various fields, including economic affairs, trade and infrastructure and development projects. The two countries also signed a Memorandum of Understanding on railway development in Pakistan, and an agreement in which Korea would provide aid to the Islamic country. The Korean government passed the agreement -- under which Korea would send experts, volunteer workers and necessary goods to Pakistan -- at a Cabinet meeting late last month. During his three-day stay here, President Zardari will also meet with Korean business leaders as part of efforts to increase trade and investment between the two nations.
