daily timesSticking to its prior stance, the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leadership has decided not to be a part of any ‘grand alliance’ or ‘campaign’ announced by the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), saying the party will continue its movement against the rulers from its own platform. Sources in the PTI told Daily Times on Monday that after the announcement of PML-N President Nawaz Sharif to get their party’s support for his campaign against the sitting government of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP), the top brass of the party had decided to take a firm stance against it declaring such move another plan to trap them. The sources said the PTI leadership believed that the PML-N leaders “have no political ethics” and had deceived the party and its leadership twice – first during the long march for restoration of Chief Justice of Pakistan Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry and second when the nation was struggling against the military rule of Pervez Musharraf. They said their leaders could not rely on a party like the PML-N that had dual standards in politics. They further said that though it was premature to talk about any grand alliance, but the PTI leaders had unanimously reached the conclusion that it was impossible to support the PML-N, which had given the incumbent coalition government four years to remain in power. PTI Punjab President Ahsanur Rasheed said his party had no plans to join PML-N and would continue its struggle for change in the country from its own platform.
