Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to hold World Pashto Convention

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Culture and Information department in collaboration with Pashto Addabi Chaman Thal is going to hold Second two-day International Pashto Convention at Nishtar Hall, Peshawar on April 6, to 7th 2012. The convention besides, Pakistan will also be attended by the delegates of Germany, Afghanistan, UK, USA and Middle-East. The main objective of the convention is to review the steps taken for the promotion of Pashto language, literature and culture and to prepare recommendations to meet the challenges in this regard. The KP Minister for Culture and Information, Mian Iftikhar Hussein will inaugurate the convention. Prominent Pashtun intellectuals and writers included Habibullah Rafi, Ghafoor Lewal, Khair Mohammad Arif, Mohammad Asif Samim, Prof. Darvesh Durrani from Afghanistan, Prof. Mehmood Ayaz from Quetta, Arif Tabbasum from Islamabad, Tahir Afridi from Karachi, Hidayatullah Bangash from Germany, Feroz Afridi from Qatar and Haji Mohammad Sharif Orakzai from Dubai. It is worth mentioning that the Pashto Addabi Chaman Thal had successfully organized the first International Pashto Convention in 2005 at Nishtar, Peshawar.
