The Supreme Court of Pakistan on Monday said though more than Rs600 million were spent on an investigation into the killing of former prime minister Benazir Bhutto, the report has not been made public yet.
The remarks came as an SC bench headed by Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhamamd Chaudhry resumed hearing into an application seeking registration of second FIR in BB murder case.
Applicant Rashif A Rizvi said that several things would emerge after the registration of the FIR that went unnoticed earlier.
The CJ said that interior secretary should be called in to inquire over the UN report. The CJ regretted that the government was opposing lodging of another FIR.
Federal Interior Minister Rehman Malik continued to avoid appearing before the court despite summoning in BB murder case.
Khalid Ranjha, counsel to Chaudhry Pervez Elahi, a suspect in the vase, were present in the court during the hearing.
