The Balochistan government has announced three day mourning in the province over the tragic incidents
In Quetta‚ eighty-one people have been killed and one hundred and twenty-one injured in two bomb attacks at Alamdar Road.
Twenty-five rescue workers‚ nine police personnel including a DSP and SHO and three media men were among the dead.
The first blast took place in a Snooker Club on Alamdar Road when people were busy playing the game.
Police sources say it appeared to be a suicide attack.
The second blast took place ten minutes after the first attack outside the Snooker Club when a large number of people‚ police‚ rescue workers and media teams gathered at the scene.
Police said an explosive laden car was used in the second blast.
The building of Snooker Club was completely destroyed‚ while over fifty shops and nearby houses were badly damaged.
President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf have condemned the Quetta blasts and directed the provincial authorities to provide best medical facilities to the injured.
They expressed grief and sorrow over the loss of precious lives in the blasts.
They also condoled with the family of a Cameraman of a private TV Channel Imran Sheikh who was martyred in the blast.
Meanwhile‚ Chief Minister‚ Balochistan‚ Nawab Muhammad Aslam Raisani has announced a compensation of two million rupees each for the heirs of the police personnel and one million rupees each for the heirs of the civilians who were martyred in Quetta blasts.
He has also announced three day mourning in the province over the tragic incidents.
